Rejuvenation Room

Hi!

I’m a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a passion for preventive care, sexual & reproductive health, and whole-person care. I have worked in diverse clinical settings with patients from all walks of life, and I love advocating for patients as they navigate a complex and broken health care system. I also have scoliosis, hypermobile-Ehlers Danlos syndrome, fibromyalgia, and a whole host of related symptoms and conditions that affect my physical and mental health, so I truly get what it feels like to walk through life with an “invisible” chronic illness.

I am committed to learning and growing with my patients as we work towards improving their health, wellbeing and quality of life. My biggest priority is for each of my patients to feel safe, supported, and empowered to meet their needs and achieve their goals in their healthcare journey and life. In my free time I enjoy being in nature, reading and writing, doing modified yoga for people with spinal fusions, and relaxing on the couch with my husband Nick and our sweet cat Dolly.

My name is Nicole Sheintul and I am a chronic illness coach, specializing in Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome and mental health. I have hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) and my aim is to empower other chronic illness warriors to realize their full potential, capacity to thrive, and cultivate their best quality of life.

I am a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) in NYS, and I have experience in hospital settings. My professional experience has provided me with skills including crisis management, emotional support, care management, life transitions guidance, and knowledge of healthcare systems. I use a strengths-based, person-first approach that focuses on resilience building, stress reduction, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, compassionate partnering, and solution-focused interventions. Topics I have explored include but are not limited to: Chronic illness, chronic pain, hospitalization, post-surgical adjustment, major life transitions, grief, diagnosis acceptance, relationship issues, social issues, etc. I have worked with adolescents, young and middle-aged adults, and seniors (65+). I am also trained in clinical social work with a focus in health, trauma-informed care, and mind-body awareness. I have certifications in Social Work in Healthcare and Somatic EMDR.

In addition to my professional experience, my lived experience as someone with a chronic illness will allow me to bridge the gap that often exists between healthcare professionals and individuals seeking compassionate care. This holistic lense will help foster an alliance that aims to empower and lift up the inherent strengths that every individual has and cultivate sustainable growth.
